Essay about Desire, 38th Word in the "Good Words" Project
The beautiful Nevada countryside
Desire -38th Good Word of the “Good Words” Project
Desire is the 38th Good Word in Jo Goldsmith’s Good Words Project, words she gives us a new word weekly to help us realize that if we live by these words and practice them, we will become better people and better writers.
This is Jo’s calling to promote the work of unknown writers to bring us recognition, to help us become the best writers we can be.
The 38th week’s good word in Desire, it is my sincere desire to complete the Good Words Project.
I promised Jo that I would write a poem for each “Good Word” and although I am a little behind, I have kept and will keep my promise.
Desire what does it means?
Desire:
- Want
- Wish
- Longing
- Craving
- Yearning
- Need
- Aspiration
- Plea
If you could have your heart’s desire
Just what would you require?
What would it be?
The riches of the world
Or peace for you and me?
What is Your Heart’s Desire?
To end all hunger, to end all wars
For the homeless,
Would you take a stand?
And extend a helping hand
What is Your Heart’s Desire?
To set the world on fire
Instead of lending a helping hand
To those whose problems are so dire
Or live a life of greed and never think of others needs
What is my heart’s desire?
What is my heart’s desire?
To see peace, in our country;
In our lifetime; in our world and in our lands
Where anyone who needs it, gets a helping hand?
